Patrick earned a four-year, full tuition scholarship to attend the University of Maryland at College Park. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Economics and spent six years in retail banking. He was an elected officer, as well as, a Branch Manager, Regional Budget Liaison and Regional Trainer. As a regional trainer, he facilitated a development process consisting of interpersonal skills and customer service/sales techniques for several hundred employees. It was Mr. Fennell's commitment to the development of people, in particular, the mental growth and success of our youth, which led him to leave a six-figure a year job and pioneer Empowerment Solutions, LLC. Prior to Empowerment Solutions, LLC, Patrick participated in several mentoring programs, including Big Brother/Big Sister, Junior Achievement and the About Face program. Patrick was licensed by his Pastor, Rev. R. Lenton Buffalo, Jr. at The Union Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ. He recently received accreditation in Christian Ministry at New York Theological Seminary (NYTS) and will matriculate at NYTS in the Master of Divinity Program. He coordinates, implements, and facilitates a Male Family Involvement program for Center for Family Resources, as well as, serve on the “Kids on Track” Action Team and the Mentor Steering Committee for United Way of Morris County. The Kid’s On Track Action Team provides a workable strategic plan and comprehensive recommendations regarding funding for programs for school-age children, teenagers and their families. He also personally mentors two young men, assists in tutoring youth, has taught Sunday school for all ages, and served as a Cell Leader for a local youth group. Patrick also spent seven years as a Director of Operations for an international restaurant chain. In this capacity, he coordinated training and staff development, created and implemented an orientation program, which reduced turnover by 101%, and served as a Regional Training Instructor for six franchise groups. His restaurants received numerous awards and recognition for sales and operational excellence. He also sat on the Future Franchise Council, which discussed the future of the brand, strategic plans, and operations. Furthermore, he participated in the marketing co-operative, which determined advertising strategies for local market windows. When reflecting on people today, Patrick said: “What our youth need to understand is that our lives are based on the choices we make. With this in mind, successful adults must understand that it is our responsibility to share the information needed to make the right choices with those who also desire to attain success. How many people do you know who want to fail?” |
